Infiniti announced pricing today for the new 2014 Q50 (ex-G37) at the world debut of the new QX60 Hybrid at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. The new Q50 will start at $37,355 while Q50 Hybrid pricing beings at $44,605, both prices including a $905 destination fee. The 2014 Infiniti Q50′s introductory pricing starts $900 lower than the base price of the 2013 Infiniti G37 sedan.
For $37,355, 2014 Infiniti Q50 buyers will get a 328-hp 3.7-liter V-6 and a seven-speed automatic. Infiniti expects most buyers to opt for the Q50 Premium trim with the navigation system, a model priced at $41,605, and includes Infiniti’s new InTouch infotainment system. Non-hybrid 2014 Q50 pricing tops out at $45,655 for the Q50 Sport AWD. For a limited time, those who reserve and purchase a Q50 will receive a free iPad mini.
Pricing for the Q50 Hybrid reflects that of the non-hybrid version but with a $4400 price increase. The “base” trim for the Q50 Hybrid is the $44,605 Q50 Hybrid Premium. Q50 Hybrid pricing tops out at $48,805 for the all-wheel-drive Sport trim. Infiniti Q50 Hybrid Sports are $3150 more than the regular Q50 Sports. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 and electric motor, for a net output of 354 hp. Regardless of engine, all-wheel drive is an $1800 option.
Available Q50 features include adaptive cruise control, predictive Forward Collision Warning, Back-up Collision Intervention, Active Lane Control, two touch-capacitive screens on the center stack, power torso bolsters on the driver’s seat, a 14-speaker sound system, Around View Monitor, and LED headlights.
Though European and Australian buyers will have the option of a Mercedes-Benz-sourced turbodiesel I-4, American buyers will be limited to the V-6 and hybrid powertrains when the Q50 goes on sale this summer. Infiniti may offer in the U.S. a gas-powered turbo-four in a year or two.
In other Infiniti news, the luxury brand announced that Formula 1 racer Sebastian Vettel has been named the Director of Performance at Infiniti. His first project was developing the new Q50 at Nissan’s Japanese proving grounds.
