McLaren’s road-car lineup is
about to grow yet again, with a car called the P13. Placed below the 12C, Motor Trend reports that the P13 is set to be the company’s highest-volume product when it arrives, probably in the 2014 calendar year. Like the McLaren 12C, the P13 will seat just two, but with a trunk, too. If the car has any chance of hitting McLaren’s sales target of up to 2500 units sold per year around the world, the price will probably fall below $200,000. Currently, the McLaren 12C has a base price in the $240,000 range for a coupe. Under the hood of this “base model” McLaren, we expect a detuned version of the 12C’s 616-hp twin-turbo V-8. With around 500-530 hp, the car would still have plenty of power yet fall well short of the more expensive 12C.
